Yeh – Except it’s NOT free at all- you have to buy the genesis framework in order to get the “free theme” what a waste of time…

How have at least 45 people given this ridiculously stupid post a thumbs up? You dont have to pay anything to download the Ayoshop theme, therefore it is free. What is confusing about that?

Indeed one have to pay for genesis framework to use the genesis child themes. But you have to consider that almost all the child themes from studiopress are also paid themes. Its not often you would get a child theme of this quality with responsive layout, woocom integrated and bbpress compatible for absolutely free.

I disagree. Buy the Pro Plus Package and you get all Studiopress present and future theme at a once all (not recurrent fee). It is the most economic and productive theme purchase I’ve ever made and I I have made a number I quite regret.

Agree 100% , you really cannot go wrong with genesis amd its a once off. There is nothing misleading about this theme , it is indeed free and a fantastic theme , thanks to the guys for providing us with this theme.

Do yourselves a favor , invest in the genesis framework.

Ok, I got it activated by uploading it in FTP. (I am very new to this – so that was impressive for me – lol)

I’m now looking to change the size of the homepage slider, or figure out the size of the images that are used in the slider. Right now my images are very stretched.

For now, you need to edit some CSS if want to resize the slider width. I’m planning to update the theme in next couple weeks *crossfinger :)

    Hello,

I have the Genesis Framework and have installed this Child Theme; on the demo page it states under Plugins that it has: Aqua Page Builder.

I can not find this plugin within my admin area, nor can I find it in the: Add New Plugin options.

Please could some one advise on how I can find this and activate it to use, or if it is using another name?

    Thank you in advance…

It is now Feb, 24th 2014 and downloaded AyoShop v 1.1 a couple of days ago.
Although this theme is very promising, tabs are still not working.

When will this be solved ? I cannot go into production without this.
If not solved inside the theme, how can it be made active via a workaround (code, plugin, etc.) ?

        Thanks

Hi, Love the theme, but I can’t get the WooCommerce Cart to appear in the primary sidebar. If I change the theme to Twenty Eleven and put the WooCommerce Cart in a sidebar widget, it appears OK. If I then revert back to Ayoshop theme it appears OK, until I clear the cart, and then add another product, the sidebar cart does not reappear.

Awesome theme guys, just can’t seem to get the slider to work as I need.
It always seems to mess up, and when I try and remove it, the loading bars stay there and It messes up the general layout.

I can turn it off in the code, but then the featured products and widgets also stop working.

any help would be appreaciated :)

Is there possibly a way to get different categories showing on separate pages. Not just having tem all under shop, so I can have a dropdown menu of categories on my menu.

Hi, the reason why the stylesheet is missing is because you must have Genesis Framework installed otherwise the AyoShop theme won’t work. Genesis Framework is not free so you must buy it.

I paid someone to edit the theme…now I can’t do the genesis/woo or Theme updates without causing an issue and losing my customizations. Hmmm :(

If you make the changes I had someone do to this theme to clean it up, I’d be able to update it :)

What I had done was clean up the look of the blog style area (removed the author, date, tags etc… much cleaner and friendlier looking)

    You can see here: http://mixersonsale.com/recipes/

Now it just has Title/Photo/Description with [read more] and separation bars. Nice eh?

Perhaps you’ll look into changing this for an update :)

Hi, everything seems to be working, although 2 things may need changes. For the header, the width and height values are been switched (height = width value, width = height value). Also, the header does not seem to be working in ie9. It is not resizing it correctly when I enter the logo at a larger size (700 x 300) and resize it to half as suggested (350 x 300). It just shows the 700 x 300 version cropped.

Hi, I can’t get my logo to display with this theme. I am using AyoShop 1.2.2 on WordPress 3.6. I have tried uploading the logo in “AyoShop settings” to no avail. I have also tried to point to the URL of where my logo resides. Nothing happens with either command after choosing insert into post. The image is the same size as the settings size. Settings is the only place I can see where the logo would be activated.

There is no header option in the theme’s customization section. Please let me know how to get the logo to show up in place of the title and tagline.

Maybe there is some code I need to put into the theme’s file?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply. I really like this theme and will sit tight till the upgrade. I figured it had something to do with the wordpress upgrade.

One other thing I noticed that you are probably aware of…Genesis did away with the fancy drop down menu in Genesis 2.0. I found out after I upgraded to Genesis 2.0 and lost the nice drop down menu in your theme that was at the top of my website. I thought I could use the fancy drop-down plugin to active it again, but the plug-in didn’t work so I reverted back to 1.9.

Will the fancy drop down menu work with Ayo after it’s update with Genesis 2.0?

On my other websites, the fancy dropdowns just work with Genesis 2.0 without the need of the plug-in leading me to believe an AYO update might fix the issue.

      Thanks again.

      Robert

Any news on when the update will be released?

I have serious header and menu issues and I don’t know how to fix them. I’m really hoping the update will sort it out.

    Sup team.

We got quite buggy header and footer issues with the update to 3.6 and 2.0.

Adding in the html5 support as well turned the whole website responsive.

Looking forward to the update. Thanks again AyoTeam :)

In the newest update to your ayoshop theme, div tags no longer work in the text blocks…. Is there a new block to use with div?

I feel like this is a bug, as div should work (and did perfectly in the last build).

    Please provide an update asap.

      Hi Ben,

This is something that we still writing on for Page Builder Documentation.

Basically you need to wrap the elements with “Container Open & Close”. This screenshot might explain a bit http://i.imgur.com/NmYSGbo.png or try to import AyoShop dummy content to get more better idea. AyoShop Dummy content -> https://copy.com/bdW1U1GCeaCZ

Beside, I think that Drupal Themes is also suitable for Ecommerce. It is a free content management framework, which is currently used as a back-end system for at least 2.1 per cent of all websites in the world.

I have installed genesis and ayoshop, including all of the recommended plugins, and have things generally working. Here is the problem:
When I use a text block in page builder, there are no icons available in the drop down list. Also, the block is not bordered in any way or organized on the page, the way it is shown in the documentation video. The icons that come with the theme are present when I am creating a post, just not in the pagebuilder text blocks. Help?

Hi same question as josemv, downloaded file but it is not the latest version.

I have been reinstalling older versions of certain updates to get the product pages to work correctly but keep finding new issues, also this isn’t good practice. I really enjoy this theme and also just shelled out the $60 for the genesis frame work, because ayo came so highly rated. Would really appreciate some help, I can’t seem to find much info on this, please give us latest version!

This theme is very well announced and is quite promising in the combination of WP + Genesis + WooCommerce. But unfortunately I see here a lot of issues and only little solutions.

I’ve used it now on a pre-version of a commercial e-shop with WP 3.8.1 + Genesis 2.0.2 and WooComm 2.1.2 and I’m still suffering from the same issues as already mentioned here above by others.

The theme screenshot indicates v1.1 while there seems to be a version 1.2.2. However my download is from a few days ago (and the file date is 08-jan-2014) it still seems to be the old version (I cannot find a way to verify if I have the latest version). Where do we get the new version with the promised fixes ??

Although it is a free theme (and thus not an ideal starting point to get support) a little extra help from the developers would be appreciated to rate this as a trustworthy source for this kind of themes. Especially if you want people to buy Genesis first (approx USD 60) in order to be able to use this theme.

The developers did a great job so far, so it would be a petty if they would miss the next jump now. Looking forward to you contributions.

I have notice that when I go to customize theme everything looks good. Click on additional settings and responsive layout is checked. If I uncheck this, the site changes and it looks like how I see it in my browser. Checking it again fixes the problem. So all I can think of is that the theme is not seeing the responsive-styles.css

When I go to my themes page, I see this at the bottom:

    Broken Themes

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
    Name Description
Startup Design Framework Stylesheet is missing.

Before you ask, Yes I installed the Genesis frameowrk. I had to upload AyoShop manually through FTP just to get it to work originally.

I have Genesis and I tried both through WordPress and FTP. Not sure if I am placing the theme in the wrong directory. Anyone can please guide through this. Thanks so much

Lees, from what I understand, you want to unzip the theme and manually place it into your themes folder via FTP or the cpanel on your host site. It’s stop asking for the stylesheet then. Try that… hope it helps.

Paulina, on your admin page > under the Genesis tab, click the Theme Settings link. You can then choose your layout under the DEFAULT LAYOUT pane.

Attention! If you get the message:

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

    - then you are trying to upload the .zip file directly as a WordPress Theme. However, the .zip file actually contains some extras, such as PSDs, so the Theme folder is within another folder within the zip file.

    - What to do: unzip the .zip file on your local computer. Go into /ayoshop-wp-theme/ and you’ll see another folder, /ayoshop/ . That’s the one you want to upload to your /wp-content/themes/ folder, using FTP or scp etc, (and maybe check permissions/owner etc.)

    - If you don’t like using FTP, you can also re-zip just the /ayoshop/ folder (right-click, Add to Zip or something similar) into, let’s call it ayoshop.zip. Now you can go to WordPress Dashboard and upload that new .zip file as normal.

I don’t understand the confusion. It says its a free child theme. Child means it works off a framework or other parent theme. Never does it say the parent theme is free. People need to read full title/description before declaring something is “deceptive”. It’s free. It’s parent is not free, so what, it’s still free. If you’re not aware what a child theme is then that’s not Ayo’s fault.

They do however have a poorly structured zip file. For all those wondering why they get an error its because the download file is NOT the theme. The theme is actually inside that zip file in a subfolder. The zip file is not a WordPress theme file.
