Light painting is well-known as light drawing and it is a photographic technique. Herein exposures are made generally at night or in an unlit room by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. In several cases the light source itself does not have to come into sight. The term light painting also includes images lit from outside the frame with hand-held light sources. The first celebrated photographer to use this method was Man Ray in his sequels  ”Space Writing” produced in 1935. Light painting can be done interactively by means of a webcam too.

It can be said that light is the basis of all art. Different kinds of light sources can be used, varying from simple flashlights to dedicated devices like the Hosemaster, which uses a fiber optic light pen. Other sources of light including candles, matches, fireworks, lighter flints, glowsticks, and Poi which are also in style. Light painting by moving the camera, also called camera painting, is the antithesis of traditional photography. An example is using the night sky as the canvas, the camera as the brush and cityscapes as the palette.

Light painting can take on the characteristics of a quick pencil sketch. Instantly Picasso started creating images in the air with a tiny flashlight in a dim room. Of Picasso’s creation, the most renowned and eminent is known as “Picasso draws a centaur in the air”. There are a lot of light in the market like pendant lights, spot lights and oyster lights. Oyster lights are different in shapes, it can be round oval or rectangular and these are mounted on the ceiling. But if you are looking for beauty, style, elegance and fashion, try using pendant light and one of the best types of pendant light is crystal chandelier. Crystal chandelier still holds the reputation of being the best light feature that you can have in your home.

Some other lightings technique is of Tungsten or incandescent lights include the traditional picture lights. Fluorescent lighting is more typically found in office environments. They give artwork a greenish cast. Halogen light bulbs are increasing in popularity because of their intensity. They are an excellent choice where you are trying to light an item from a distance and where heat is not a risk. The distance they place the bulb from the artwork makes them safe and the artwork looks great.

Digging the light painting! My two friends and I made an entire stop motion light painting film (a mere two minutes worth for over 1300 pictures) while we were studying abroad (loooots of sleepless nights). Check it out over on the Tube of You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9px483WupIY
