Slides 3 is Here!

Slides 3 is Here!

Our website design app is better than ever with the release of Slides 3, which features plenty of new design options and functionality.

Slides 3 is a tool that makes it pretty much impossible for you to build an ugly website. The tool, which is a really good website builder, uses a simple and powerful HTML and CSS framework to help build static websites with plenty of room for customization.

Slides 3 is built with a powerful generator (app) that comes with a starting point where you can create a website online, so you are ready to go right out of the gate. Pick the elements you like best and combine them to your liking.

And you can’t go wrong with the design because every element is made to aesthetically, functionally and usability-wise work with every other element you have to choose from. You can build quickly and on a framework of clean code with the drag and drop interface.

Unlike some other site builders where there are only a handful of templates, Slides 3 includes more than 180 customized elements so that you can build a website that’s uniquely yours. And every slide and component comes with great animations to bring your design to life. (If you want a template Slides 3 includes 15 professional options as well.)

What’s New in Slides 3?

You probably want to know what’s new with Slides 3. Why should you upgrade (free) from a previous version or buy Slides for the first time now?

Take a look at the video below to see some of the new features of Slides; enjoy the video and new functionality.

The thing that’s most notable about Slides 3 is that it looks different than previous versions. Visual and layout changes are quite impressive. Here are some of the design highlights:

  • Slides 3 is easier to customize.
  • The layout has been simplified with fewer custom classes, and replaced with more common names. (But that means you need to manually transfer old content from Sliders 2 or older to the new format rather than just update styles.)
  • There’s a new Flex Grid for better flexibility and responsive control.
  • Added sound components.
  • Added scroll animation, including parallax.

There are plenty of other new features as well. You can find them all in the changelog, but here are some of the highlights:

  • For a quicker development, SCSS source files, which you can use to manage basic variables and can make serious changes, are included.
  • The zoom image effect for scroll has been fixed, but is not compatible with Slides 2. Hang data-action=”zoom” attribute directly to an image you want to zoom in and remove it from the parent elements (old approach).
  • Slides 3 comes with material icons with hundreds of options read for you to use for buttons and other content.
  • Modular content blocks make it easy to create from scratch with more than 90 slide options, navigation styles and animation effects.
  • Everything is designer and developer-friendly. Everything you need for a great design comes with Slides 3 so you don’t spend a lot of time trying to build elements from scratch.

Finally, Slides 3 comes with all the tools you have come to expect from a Designmodo product. If you have liked previous versions of Slides, or even if you haven’t tried it yet, now is the time. Here are a few of the key features:

  • Build quick
  • 90+ customizable blocks
  • Seamless animations
  • Fully responsive design
  • Clean code
  • Gorgeous templates
  • Committed support

Really big update. The app is impressive, I will try it deeply later, but from first view it’s amazing.

    This is AWESOME!

  3. Leonard Benner Feb 13, 2:57 pm

Happy to see so many examples of code :)

New update is good, I’m going to redesign my personal website.

  4. Jemor Feb 13, 3:31 pm

Hi, should I buy the Slides again?

    • Adrian Feb 13, 3:33 pm

Hi, nope. This update is absolutely free for existing Slides customers.

      • Simon Feb 14, 12:36 am

Awesome news that this is a free update. You might want to clarify that in the article, as I was initially scared when I read this part : “Why should you upgrade from a previous version or buy Slides for the first time now?” as it kind of sounds like it might be a paid upgrade. Keep up the good work!

      • Brandon Feb 14, 12:56 am

        Yey!!! That’s great news!

  5. Luis Giménez Feb 13, 3:38 pm

It looks like it’s time to make some updates to my slides v2 site. The “Copy HTML code” button is the best part of the update by far (including the integrations)! We previously had to download the whole package but now we have the option to make modifications to the site without having to keep a copy of slides locally. Well done guys!

Absolutely amazing product! I do have one question / request though: for people who want to make one site instead of many, is there a possibility to create a similar product where one can pay an amount matching to that particular customer? I really love the product, but primarily for myself and not for my customers, so $249 might be a bit overkill for people like little me :)

    • Nadia Feb 13, 10:55 pm

Good point. That’s exactly why I haven’t bought it yet.

      • Joram Feb 14, 6:19 pm

I was hoping not to be the only one :)

Perhaps it’s also possible, since it’s an online product and not simply a ZIP file one downloads, to pay on a “per site” basis or something like that?

        • Luis Giménez Feb 15, 10:43 am

Hi, it is not an online platform, when you buy you get access to the “generator” (that is an online tool) but after that, you download your assets and files as any other theme to upload to your server.

  7. Neil James Feb 13, 11:27 pm

An impressive update to an already useful product. Thanks guys.

As mentioned above, “Copy HTML Code” is a great part of the update.

For any ongoing updates development it would be interesting to consider how to make the forms more elaborate and useful rather than standard sending messages via email. A wide selection of ‘customisable’ forms which such options of attaching Files or Docs for uploading to interact with a site (owner) for whatever reason would be useful.

Great efforts from DesignModo – happy customer :)

  8. Ionut Feb 13, 11:38 pm

    Great! Thank you!

  9. Is there a demo? Feb 14, 12:26 am

looks interesting but is there the chance to play with it before purchasing?

    • Adrian Feb 14, 11:47 am

We don’t offer the trial version, but all the customers have 20 days for money back. So you can test it during 20 days.

      • Marco Feb 14, 4:38 pm

What stops me from downloading the whole thing and then ask for my money back regardless? Serious question.

I’d love to buy this, I’ve already bought Qards from you, but 249$ isn’t cheap and really, putting a demo in place will help me understand wether I really need/want this or not.

Even if I do get my money back in 20 days, why wouldn’t you save your customer from the pain of dealing with a money issue in the first place?

  10. Philip Wilkinson Feb 14, 1:46 pm

How would existing slides2 owners download the new update then?

    • Adrian Feb 14, 2:47 pm

You can download it from your Designmodo account or use the Slides App.

  11. Steven Feb 16, 5:12 pm

Hi, I had a question regarding the CSS.

When you click on the download website button, does it download all the styles or just the styles of the “blocks” we chose.

    Thank you

    • Sergey Shmidt Feb 16, 9:14 pm

Hi, Steven! It downloads all the styles, so when you decide to add a few block later you don’t need to worry about CSS anymore.

  12. Arsen Feb 22, 12:12 pm

Hi Adrian, this is a great leap forward!
As a SLIDE customer is there a way to add a stripe component to the web page?
Haven’t fount anything on the components examples!!

  13. Steven Feb 22, 1:44 pm

Wow, looks amazing! I’m sure we are going to have sooo much fun with Slides 3! :-)

  14. Philipp Feb 27, 7:42 pm

    “SCSS source files” Awesome :D

  15. Rathes May 18, 12:08 pm
