Need an Unlayer alternative that saves more time?

Like Postcards, Unlayer is a no-code email builder for designers and marketers to create responsive templates. But in reviews on G2.com, some users say Unlayer can be a little tricky to use. So how does it compare with Postcards? Is Postcards an easier, faster Unlayer alternative? Let’s find out.

Heads up: Unlayer has changed direction

Unlayer no longer offers email template creation the way it used to. The comparison below covers its email builder point by point all the same — and if that’s what brought you here, Postcards is a no-code email builder still built for exactly that.

Unlayer vs Postcards

The Breakdown

  • Drag and drop editor

Unlayer’s user interface is different to most email template builders on the market; you’ll need to spend some time learning how to use it. Like in Postcards, you can drag and drop blocks into your template, but creating a block from scratch is more complex, requiring categorization and tagging.

  • Real-Time Collaboration

With Postcards, everyone can co-edit on one draft at the same time, with changes reflected on everyone’s screens in real time with your teammates’ cursors. Effortlessly designate editors and viewers as needed. Unlayer, meanwhile, doesn’t support live co-editing.

  • See it before you send it

Postcards shows you how a template renders in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and Yahoo from inside the editor, on desktop and mobile, so you catch the problems before the send rather than after it.

  • Customizable mobile view

Both Postcards and Unlayer’s email templates are responsive. But what if you need to tweak your design for mobile? On Postcards, you can — open the mobile view and adjust spacing, sizes, and what shows or hides, all without touching the desktop layout.

Unlayer vs Postcards

Pricing

Unlayer’s pricing tiers are similar to Postcards: a free plan, a $15/month plan ($19/month for Postcards), and a $30/month plan ($29/month for Postcards). But there are some big differences in what you get with each plan.

  • Exports per month (free)

On the Postcards free plan, you can export 5 templates per month. On the free version of Unlayer, you can’t export to your ESP at all.

  • Exports per month (paid)

Unlayer doesn’t say how many exports are included on its paid plans; on Postcards, you’ll get 20 on the cheapest paid tier Plus ($19/month), or choose the $29/month Pro plan for unlimited exports.

  • Stored templates per account

With Postcards’ free plan, you can store up to 10 template projects in your account — but again, on Unlayer’s free plan, you can’t save and edit any templates at all, meaning it’s of limited use.

  • Unlimited templates per account

Unlayer also doesn’t share publicly how many template projects you can store on the paid plans. With Postcards, you’ll get unlimited template storage on all paid plans.

I like that it is easy to use, and I don't need to know how to code. We send emails through Pardot, and I am easily able to export the HTML code and just paste it right into Pardot.
